Girl dupes guy in the name of marriage, collects Rs 16 lakhs and escapes to Australia

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 18, 2024: In what comes as a shocker for unmarried man, a girl has allegedly cheated him in the name of marriage and ran away with Rs 16 lakhs cash to Australia.

Accordingly the victim’s father lodged a complaint with LMD police station in Thimmapur mandal on Saturday. The police said that Maadana Nagaraju from Thimmapur village went to Coimbatore to learn yoga at Esha foundation. He met Kamala Sandhya Priyanka of Visakapatnam at Esha foundation.

Initially, they fell in love and later they started live-in relationship. Few months, they returned to their native village. But, his father did not allow him into his house. They took  a house for rent in the same and living together.

Nagaraju who was having business partnership with a private hospital had cancelled the partnership and secured Rs 16 lakhs. Priyanka forced him to transfer the amount into her relative’s bank account. Later, she went to Australia stating that she was having some work.

She called Nagaraju from Australia and demanded Rs 3 lakhs. He refused to pay. She informed Nagaraju that she would marry him only if he registers his land in her name. Since then, Nagaraju was harassing his father to hand over his share of land holdings so that he would register in the name of Priyanka and marry her.

Unable to bear the harassment, Nagaraju’s father Mallaiah lodged a complaint with the police. The police have registered a case against Priyanka. Nagaraju had made a suicide attempt and his condition is stated to out of danger and undergoing treatment in hospital.
