‘Eat Green’ exhibition to promote healthy eating among students

Students of Arvintree School organised an exhibition on leafy vegetables and green vegetables

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 26, 2024: Tiny Tots of Arvintree High School, Vasudeva colony, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar town, observed ‘Eat Green’ exhibition an initiative to spread awareness about healthy eating by consuming more green vegetables including leafy vegetables on Friday.

Accordingly, the school, which is already having plenty of plants, was transformed into green colour with plants and decorations. The students also donned green dress and caps. They had exhibited various green vegetables and explained about its nutritional values for good health.

The students displayed different varieties of leafy vegetables such as spinach, coriander, sorrel leaves, amaranth, fenugreek leaves and in vegetables such as beans cucumber, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, cluster beans, legumes etc. They also displayed a chart explaining the nutritional content in leafy vegetables and other green vegetables and how it protects the humans and helps stay healthy.

School Chairman B Ramana Rao, correspondent B Vijayalakshmi, vice principal Joyce, coordinators Saroja, Deepika and other teachers were present. The parents of the children have arrived in large numbers and interacted with the children and asked various queries pertaining the vegetables on display.

On this occasion, Mr Ramana Rao said that they had taken up the concept of ‘Eat Green’ to encourage the children eat more leafy and green vegetables to stay in good health. Educating the students to shun eating the junk food, he said that the junk food was causing several health related issues. The junk food and fast-food invariably tasty but need not to be necessarily healthy, he reminded.
