KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 12, 2024: The Health club of Government Degree College for Women, Karimnagar, in association with Renee hospitals conducted a workshop on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid on the college premises on Tuesday.
A hands-on training was demonstrated in CPR for the students and teaches by a team of doctors from Renee hospital led by its chairman Dr Bangari Swamy, Dr Yougendar (HoD critical care), Dr Veerendra Chary (Pulmonologist), general manager Aravind, programme coordinator Kothapalli Srinivas created awareness on the techniques of Basic Life Support (BLS) using a manikin.
They demonstrated the whole process of CPR which included activation of emergency medical services, consciousness pulse, vitals, breathing patterns, rescue, artificial respiration, speed, proximity, bare chesting, emergency medicines to be used, depth of chest compressions, position of chest compressions, cooperation with emergency medical technicians, rapid response time, rules of golden hour, fails and complications of CPR. “The training session was conducted to aware students with techniques of BLS and CPR as they are a pivotal part in emergency situations”, they stated.
College principal T Sreelakshmi, also undergone hands on training on CPR along with teachers and students, congratulated the health club coordinator R Jyotirmai, members N Sangeeta Rani, Sridhar Rao and A . Chandra Shekhar for conducting such useful programme.
