KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 07, 2024: On the occasion of World Health day on Sunday, the Renee Multi-specialty hospital in Karimnagar town, conducted a health camp and a flash mob to create awareness on non-communicable diseases (NCD) among the people at Ambedkar stadium in Karimnagar town.
The World health day theme for this year is “My Health, My Right’, which emphasizes on a fundamental human right to access quality health care, education and information. As part of the programme, the Renee hospital staff conducted screening for blood pressure, blood sugar and obesity for the public.
Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao and SUDA Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy participated as chief guests. Renee hospitals chairman Dr Bangari Swamy explained the risk factors of NCDs to the public. He expressed concern on the increased morbidity due to diabetes, obesity. Early screening, detection, prevention and management of NCDs such as hypertension, diabetes and leading a healthy lifestyle by avoiding foods that are high in salt, sugar and fats would help in reducing NCD fatality rates in India, he stated.
On this occasion, Dr Nikhil Laxman and his team performed a flash mob and empowered the people on the importance of health and check NCD by approaching the doctors well in advance to avoid complications later. Renee hospital superintendent Dr Ravindra Chary, Cardiologist Dr Dinakar, Critical care Dr Yugendar, general manager Mekala Aravind Rao, Olympic association leaders G Janardhan Reddy and T Ramesh Reddy, Satavahana Lions club leader B Madhusudhan Redd, Lion M Medar, Lakshma Reddy, Surender, Ambedkar stadium walkers association leaders Ramana Reddy, Ravinder Reddy and others were also present.
