Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence conference on security and privacy of govt departments

HYDERABAD, APRIL 23, 2024: The DSCI’s Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE), led by Dr. Sriram Birudavolu as CEO, has taken proactive steps to advance cybersecurity initiatives by initiating and successfully executing the Cybersecurity and Privacy Conference for Telangana Government Departments, held on Tuesday, this milestone event brought together stakeholders from government departments and industry to collectively address the pressing challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity.

Dr. Jayesh Ranjan Garu, Special Chief Secretary, ITE&C Department and Department of Industries & Commerce graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while  Ms Rama Devi Lanka, Director, Emerging Technologies, honored the event as the Guest of Honor. Mr Venu Prasad, Jt. Director (Infra &Communications) adorned the occasion as the Special Guest, Mr. Vinayak Godse, CEO – DSCI, Srikanth Srinivasan, Vice President of Nasscom further enriching the discourse with their valuable insights and perspectives.

Specialized Sessions: The conference featured diverse sessions like Cybersecurity Best Practices, Privacy and DSCI Privacy Seal, Risk Management, Attack Surface Management, Application Security Posture Management, Incident Response, Preventing Modern Day Cyber Attacks with EDR & XDR, DPDPA Readout, Cert-In Directives and Digital Well-being led by industry experts.

Initiative by CCoE: Spearheaded by the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence Telangana, under the leadership of CEO Dr. Sriram Birudavolu, the conference emerged as a cornerstone event, underlining proactive efforts to fortify the cybersecurity landscape across government entities.

Awards &Recognitions: Seven startups and partners of CCoE, namely PamTen, Paradigm IT, Tekskills, Synradar, Spearsoft, Skilledscan, and WesecureApp, were lauded for their exemplary performance in conducting penetration testing exercises on government department websites, demonstrating a commitment to advancing cybersecurity standards. Industry Engagement: Industry leaders including Qualys, Seqrite, Arete, Ctrls, and others actively participated in the event, showcasing their latest product and service offerings tailored to meet the cybersecurity needs of government departments.

Stalls: TCP Wave, Qualys, Seqrite, Cotelligent, Blusaphire, Deep Algorithms, Arete, Flying Duck, Privasapien, Veri Once, Quixy setup stalls and showcased their latest products and service offerings tailored to meet the cybersecurity needs of government departments The conference witnessed a dynamic exchange of ideas, fostering collaborations between government entities and industry stakeholders to strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem.

Around 200+ Government representatives from 30+ departments took part in the conference. As cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale, such collaborative initiatives play a pivotal role in safeguarding critical infrastructure and sensitive data assets.
