KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 01, 2024: Following the allegations against the Satavahana University Finance Officer M Ravinder over financial irregularities and misappropriation of university funds, the Finance officer has allegedly taken away several account and audit files of the university on Saturday, alleged the Satavahana University Protection and Development Forum.
Accordingly, the forum convenor Penchala Srinivas has submitted a petition along with evidences to incharge Vice-Chancellor Surendra Mohan, who made a maiden visit to the University in Karimnagar town on Saturday. He urged the incharge VC to conduct a thorough inquiry into the irregularities and misappropriation of university funds by the Finance Officer under the supervision of former VC S Mallesham and Registrar M Varaprasad.
Demanding the VC to check the CCTV footages between 12.30 and 1.30 in the university when the audit and account files were vanished by the Finance officer on Friday, Srinivas demanded the government to sack the Registrar and Finance officer and recover the misappropriated amount from them. He urged the new VC to order for an inquiry into misutilisation of university funds by retired Assistant Professor Vannala Ramesh, Controller of Exasmination Sriranga Prasad, Science College Principal Jayanthi, and Assistant Registrar Prasad.
He alleged that university authorities resorted to several irregularities in illegal appointments ad promotions, submission of false reports UGC to secure 12-B, illegal removal of five contract assistant professors, illegal construction of buildings for ‘commissions’, scam in the exam and answer sheets scanning, misutilisation of university vehicles and others.
