Polling ends peacefully in Karimnagar parliament constituency

Incidentally, the constituency recorded higher percentage of polling when compared to 2019 elections in spite of heatwaves 

In 2019 elections, the polling was 66.59 percent and in this elections it has crossed 70 percent and above mark

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 13, 2024: The voting for the fourth phase of 18th Lok Sabha elections ended in a peaceful manner in Karimnagar parliament constituency on Monday.

In the Karimnagar parliament constituency, more than 70 per cent voters exercised their voting right during the elections. The polling process started on a brisk note and the turnout remained almost equal in the rural and urban areas of the constituency.

The elections were held in a largely peaceful manner. There was no report of any kind of poll-related violence during the elections in all seven segments of the parliament constituency. The police had made elaborate security arrangements in all the constituencies for conducting elections.

There was a lot of enthusiasm among the electorate to cast their votes in the constituency, against polling percent of 66.59 percent in 2019 elections, the constituency recorded more than 70 percent polling.

The people rushed to polling booths as soon as the voting started at 7am. The voting process was slow during the morning hours, but it gradually picked up in the later part of the day. Voters from various age groups, including first timers or the elders, were seen standing in long queues at various polling booths across the constituencies.

District Election Officer Pamela Satpathy had closely monitored the conduct of smooth and peaceful elections in Karimnagar parliament constituency. Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty had personally visited the problematic polling stations and reviewed the security arrangements.
