NABARD and NABFOUNDATION collaborate to improve awareness and improve digital financial transactions in Nayagarh District of Odisha

NAYAGARH, (ODISHA), FEBRUARY 12, 2024: NABARD and NABFOUNDATION (a subsidiary of NABARD) have launched a pilot project titled DREAM (Digitization for Rural Empowerment in Agriculture Marketplace), which aims at improving financial literacy and digital transactions among farmers in the Mandi (RMC) and peripheral areas.  As part of the pilot project, awareness camps and street plays will be organised in 20 villages in the periphery of the Bahadjhola Mandi in Nayagarh.

The first such camp was organised on Monday at Ghaduala village in the presence of DDM-NABARD Trupti Tapasi, Lead District Manager Sasi Sekhar Pattanaik, RMC representative and e-NAM analyst Pravas Kumar Sahu, CFL representatives, local PRI members, partner NGO GUC and villagers.

The programme started with briefing the participants by the officials, unveiling of posters, leaflets etc. for wider reach, street play on the theme of benefits of digital payments. A financial awareness vehicle was also flagged off to reinforce the message passed during the camp. Similar workshops are planned in other 19 villages included in the project.
