It helps students study MS in Louisiana Tech University
KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 20, 2024: The Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS) autonomous, Karimnagar, has taken a significant leap by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with an American University, Louisiana Tech University (LTU) to establish an academic partnership aimed at enhancing collaboration in education, research, innovation and admission to higher education (MS).
Louisiana Tech University, located in Ruston, Louisiana, USA is a prominent and highly ranked public research university established in 1894 known for its engineering, science, and business programmes. The Programmes offered by the LTU’s School of Engineering are accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), ensuring the quality and rigour of the curriculum. The school’s reputation for excellence in engineering education is recognized nationally and internationally. Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology & Science, a pioneer institution in Telangana established in 1997 is the first Autonomous Engineering College in Karimnagar and is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and NAAC with A Grade. JITS which is always ahead in setting academic trends, is the first and only institution in the region to have signed a MoU with a USA University for the benefit of its students.
The MoU, signed by Mr. James Henderson, President, Louisiana Tech University, USA and Mr. Juvvadi Sagar Rao, Chaiman, JITS solidifies a commitment to fostering academic excellence between JITS, a leading technical institute in Telangana, and LTU, a renowned public research university in the United States.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on the following initiatives: 1. Master’s Program (M.S) Admissions: The MoU facilitates students of JITS to seek admission to Graduate Certificate and Masters programs at Louisiana Tech University, USA with the guidance of faculty advisors of Louisiana Tech Graduate School and International Student Office staff. 2. Financial Assistance (Scholarship): Louisiana Tech will take steps wherever possible to provide financial support in the form of graduate assistantships to students from JITS. 3. Faculty Exchange: Facilitate faculty exchanges between the institutions to strengthen collaborative efforts, which may eventually lead to the establishment of Centers of Excellence in selected areas. 4. Professional Development: JITS and LTU will work together to organize workshops, seminars, and training programs for students and faculty members to enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr Juvvadi Sagar Rao, Chairman of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology & Science, stated, “We are excited to establish this academic partnership with Louisiana Tech University, USA which will provide valuable opportunities for our students and faculty to engage in collaborative academic development and admission to higher education (M.S) programs. This is our testament towards providing quality education and global exposure to our students.” The signing of the MoU marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology & Science and Louisiana Tech University, with both institutions poised to benefit from the shared expertise, resources, and opportunities for collaboration.
