Election code: Babu Jagjivan Ram birth anniversary celebrated on a low-key affair

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 05, 2024: Rich tributes were paid to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 116th birth anniversary by garlanding his statue in Karimnagr town on Friday. Incidentally, the celebrations were a low-key affair due to the implementation of election code of conduct.

Collector Pamela Satpathy, Additional Collector Praful Desai and Laxmi Kiran, DRO Pawan Kumar, RDO K Mahesghwar, SC Corporation ED Nagarjuna, Social welfare officer Nathaniel, Municipal Commissioner B Srinivas, DRDO Sridhar, Collectorate AO Sudhakar and other officials garlanded the statue of Jagjivan Ram and paid floral tributes.

On the political front, Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, former MP Vinod Kumar, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, corporator Kamsala Srinivas and others garlanded the statue of former Deputy Prime Minister and hailed his services to the nation. They recollected his services as Defense Minister and defeating the Pakistan in the 1971 war and encouraging the farm sector by promoting hybrid variety of seeds.
