Collector instructs officials to attract children towards government schools

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 07, 2024: Collector Pamela Satpathy has informed the officials concerned to attract the children towards government schools by chalking various strategies as part of the ongoing ‘Badi bata’ enrolment drive programme in the district.

Reviewing the progress of the ‘Badi bata’ programme at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar town on Friday, the Collector said that the officials should compete on par with the private schools in the enrolment of the students. Instructing them to conduct ‘Badi bata’ programme in each and every village, she directed the teachers to visit each and every household in the village and enroll the children into the government schools by educating the parents.

Instructing the teachers to interact with the parents, who are sending their wards to the private schools, she said that the teachers should empower the parents about the need to join their wards in government schools for quality education free of cost with books and uniforms and midday meals. Similarly, she informed the teachers to conduct meetings with the parents of children who were sending their wards to government schools.

Directing the officials to take measures for the enrolment of children of Anganwadi centres into the government primary schools, she said that the maximum enrolment of children would strengthen the government schools. She also informed the teachers to make short videos about the achievements of the government school students in education, sports, excursions and other achievements and circulate on social media.

Reviewing the progress of various developmental works taken up in the government schools such as toilets, drinking water, paintings, kitchen sheds, she said that all the works should be completed before June 10 to welcome the students on June 12 during the reopening of schools. She said that the books and uniforms should be ready for distribution on the reopening day. She said that the shoes for all the students would be distributed in the month of July. She also directed the authorities to increase the attendance of students to the government schools and identify talented and outstanding teachers. DEO Ch Janardhan Rao, ZP CEO Srinivas, DPO Ravinder, DRDO Sridhar, DWO Saraswathi, incharge MEPMA project director Swaroopa Rani and others were also present.
