‘Badi Bata’ programme should be organised in a festive spirit, says Collector Pamela Satpathy

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 31, 2024: Collector Pamela Satpathy has instructed the education department authorities the ambitious ‘Badi bata’ programme scheduled to be conducted from June 3 to 19 with a festive spirit and enrolment maximum number of students into the government schools.

The objective of ‘Badi bata’ programme was to identify children above five years of age and also those in the age group of six to 14 years who had dropped out of schools and enroll them in the government schools. Other objectives include, school quality and school improvement programmes, 100% transition of school-going children, ensuing water, sanitation and hygiene in all schools and planning of special training centers for children of migrant families.

Accordingly, the Collector had visited the Munjampalli and Jaggaiahpalli schools in Manakondur mandal and inspected the developmental works on Friday.  Instructing the officials to conduct the ‘Badi bata’ (enrollment drive) on a mission mode, she informed the officials to ensure that majority of children join the government schools and increase their attendance. She directed the officials to ensure that the children, who had completed their primary education in the Anganwadi schools, join the government primary schools.

The Collector had instructed the authorities to ensure all the beautification and sprucing of all government schools by providing all basic amenities such as toilets, drinking water, electricity supply, paintings and other repairs were conducted before June 4. DEO Ch Janardhan Rao, MPDO Narsaiah, MEO Madhusudhana Chary and others were also present.
