Annual sports meet kicks off at JITS (autonomous) college in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 18, 2024: The annual sports meet of Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS) autonomous on the outskirts of Karimnagar town got off to a grand start on the sprawling college grounds on Monday.

The sports meet under the caption of ‘Sports Fiesta 2024’ would be conducted from March 18 to 29. During these 12 days, various sports events such as cricket, volleyball, table tennis, caroms, chess, throwball, basketball and other games would be conducted.

The event was formally inaugurated by JITS chairman Juvvadi Sagar Rao along with principal KS Rao by releasing the balloons into the air as a symbol of peace. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the events. They showed true sportsmanship and vied for the various awards. The spirit of students impressed all.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sagar Rao informed the students to make best use of their time in college by grabbing every opportunity, working hard and improving themselves. He stressed upon the potential of the youth of the country, which possess the skills and self-belief to achieve great heights. Dean (Academics) K Vaishali, Dean (Student affairs) P Sampath Rao, faculty coordinators Ch Sajan Rao, Rajesh Guna, Satya Tej, Uday Prakash, student coordinators B Vijay, M Ajay, E Praveen, J Rakesh, V Gopal, B Saikiran Reddy, D Sowmith, T Shyam Sundar and others were also present.
