TIRUMALA, MAY 21, 2024: On the occasion of the 294th Jayanti of Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, a series of events are lined up in Tirumala on Wednesday.
Tarigonda Vengamamba, an ardent devotee of Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy in the 18th Century who penned many popular kritis on Sri Venkateswara Swamy and Nrisimha Swamy. She also pioneered Annaprasadam in Tirumala.
From 3pm to 4:30pm TTD Asthana Singer Dr Balakrishna Prasad along with Annamacharya artist Smt Bullemma will present Sankeertans penned by Vengamamba on Nada Neerajanam.
Pushpanjali will be offered at Vengamamba Vrindavan in Tirumala by 4.30 pm. From 5.30 pm onwards Sri Malayappa along with Ubhayanancharis will take a procession through the streets to reach Sri Padmavathi Parinayotsava Mandapam in Narayangiri Gardens.
From 6 pm, onwards, artists of the Annamacharya project will conduct a Gosthiganam of Tarigonda Vengamamba Sankirtanas.
HH Sri Sri Sri Swarupananda Swamiji of Visakha Sarada will deliver the religious discourse at 7 pm.
As part of the 294th Birth Anniversary Vengamamba fete commenced in Tirupati on Tuesday. As a part of this, her life-size statue was garlanded by SVETA Director Sri Bhuman Subramanyam Reddy. Other officials were also present.
