Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar donates Rs 5 lakhs for the Brahmotsavams

Instructs officials to ensure transparency in maintaining accounts and donations from devotees

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 03, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has said that the annual Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Brahmotsavams in Karimnagar town should be conducted without any political affiliations and in a transparent manner.

Reviewing the arrangements for the annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Market road in Karimnagar town on Saturday, the Minister said that the Brahmotsavams would be conducted from February 14 to 21. He instructed the officials maintain proper records of the donations made by the devotees for the conduct of Brahmotsavams. He also directed the officials to maintain a low-key affair of celebrations.

Stating that the Brahmotsavams would be conducted by the state Endowments department, he said that it was not a political event and all politicians including Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others could attend the Brahmotsavams. He informed the officials to ensure that the common devotee was not caused any inconvenience during the celebrations.

He said that the procession of the presiding deities during Brahmotsavams would be conducted from the temple via Karimnagar one town police station, RTC bus station complex, Collector camp office and reach back to the temple shrine. He directed the officials to ensure that there was no inconvenience to the traffic during the brahmotsavams. Earlier, he offered prayers at the temple and donated Rs 5 lakhs for the conduct of Brahmotsavams.

Later, the Minister conducted a review meeting with Collector Pamela Satpathy and other district officials at the Collectorate. On this occasion, the Collector instructed the Endowments department officials to maintain proper records of donations made by devotees and the expenditure incurred. Manakondur legislator Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Additional Collector Praful Desai,  DRO Pawan Kumar, DFO Balamani, RDO Maheshwar, DMHO Lalitha Devi, Endowments assistant commissioner Gangadhar, temple trustee Chakilam Srinivas and Chakilam Gangadhar and others were also present.
