Three-day old infant goes missing from Govt hospital in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 18, 2024: A three-day-old infant girl has gone missing from the Mother and Child Health Centre in Karimnagar on Sunday. The police are trying to trace the woman who took the newborn away by watching the CCTV footages.

Police sources said that the labourers Manoj Ram and Nirmala from Bihar state had migrated to Karimnagar town and working in a granite quarry and residing in Bavupet in Kothapalli mandal. Following labour pains, Nirmala approached the government hospital for delivery and she gave birth to a baby girl three days ago.

On Sunday morning, Manoh Ram went outside leaving a small boy, a relative with the baby. When he returned, he found the infant girl missing. He lodged a complaint with the police. The police have registered a case and investigating by analyzing all the CCTV footages in the hospital and other areas of the vicinity of the hospital. The police found that a woman was carrying the infant and boarding an autorickshaw. They have launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons.
