Police intensify vehicle checking and seized 400 sarees meant for distribution among the voters
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 09, 2024: With the D-day fast approaching for the conduct of elections to the Karimnagar parliament constituency, the district police have intensified the vehicle checking as part of implementation of model code of conduct and seized Rs 12,35,300 unaccounted cash from different locations in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
The Karimnagar Three town police have seized Rs 8,56,300 in various locations of the police station limits, said Inspector John Reddy. He said they had seized Rs 3,76,300 from Sanjeev, a resident of Bahadurkhanpet village during vehicle checking at Kapuwada cross roads in the three-town police station limits. They also seized Rs 2,05 lakh from J Ramesh at Naka cross roads, Rs 1.75 lakhs from P Nandam at Court cross roads and Rs one lakh from J Srinivas. They handed over the amount to the election authorities for further investigation.
Similarly, the Karimnagar One Town police team lead by its Inspector J Sarilal had conducted vehicle checking and seized Rs 4.2 lakhs unaccounted cash. He said that they had seized Rs 1.6 lakh Narla Suresh at Rajiv chowk and Rs 2.6 lakhs from Vijay Raghavan at Kaman road. The seized amount was handed over to the election authorities.
The Karimnagar Two Town police have seized over 400 sarees worth Rs 3 lakhs to be distributed during the elections to woo voters during the vehicle checking at Court cross roads in Karimnagar town on Wednesday night.
