PayPal and ICT Academy set up Centre of Excellence for women empowerment at JITS

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 24, 2024: ICT Academy, supported by PayPal, launched the ‘Student Enablement Programme” at Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS) autonomous on the outskirts of Karimnagar town recently, to train the girl students on advanced IT skills.

Accordingly, the ICT Academy in association with PayPal launched the training programme for 115 girl students of JITS in Microsoft Certified Data Analytics. The training in Microsoft certified programme not only enhances their skill set but also boosts their employability in a competitive job market. The students trained would be selected by reputed companies by giving good packages not less than Rs 12 lakhs per annum.

The inauguration of the programme was held at JITS, Karimnagar, on February 9, 2024, in the presence of students. JITS chairman J Sagar Rao, Secretary J Sumith Sai, Principal K Srinivasa Rao, Dean (Academics) Vaishali, TPO Kalyan Chakravarthy, ICT Academy state head B Gopal participated in the session and empowered the girl students about the importance of undergoing training in Microsoft programme. Along with 115 girl students, the organisers were also training five women faculty members as they would turn as mentors to continue the training

The JITS has always strived for advancing towards implementing latest technologies to upskill students and faculty. ICT ACADEMY (www.ictacademy.in) is an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries. ICT ACADEMY is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train the higher education teachers and students thereby exercises on developing the next generation teachers and industry ready students.

State Head, Telangana, ICT Academy, B Gopal said that “Technology has become part of every business. The program will enable needy students to get skilled in technologies of the fourth industrial revolution being adopted by industries worldwide.” Salient features of the program include 140 hours of training on IT and professional skills, training faculty members on advanced technologies and assigning the role of mentors, assessment for trained students, certification, placement facilitation for certified students, and other activities for students to enhance their skill.
