Adi Varaha Swamy Kshethram at Tirumala, an icon of prosperity and health of devotees

TIRUMALA, SEPTEMBER 16, 2024: The Universal Supremo of Kalyuga, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy, is residing in Tirumala to protect His devotees across the globe in this aeon.

As per puranic legends indifates that Sri Maha Vishnu after completing His divine task of eliminating the demons has taken abode on Venkatachala hills in the incarnation of Swetha Varaha (wild boar).

Since then, Tirumala has been tagged as ‘Adi Varaha Kshetram’ and devotees will have Sri Venkateshwara Swamy darshan only after paying visit to Sri Varaha Swamy temple.

Epic history says that Sri Varaha Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi is residing on the west of Swamy pushkarni signifying an icon of prosperity and health to all.

Swamy pushkarni is called Varaha pushkarani and this fresh water lake is ‘Swayam Vyakta (self-oriented) its importance is mentioned in many epics including Varaha-Markandeya Vamana Skanda – Brahma and Bhavishyaothara puranas.

It is believed that all three crore Thirthams are considered to have originated from Swamy pushkarami theertham only. Upon the directions of Sri Varaha Swamy, the Swamy pushkarani was brought by Garuda from Vaikuntha, the abode of Sri Maha Vishnu.

Varaha Pushkarni has also become popular as Swamy Pushkarini and is said to be home to nine sacred Thirthas namely Kubera Thirtham, Galava thirtham, Markandeya thirtham, Agni thirtham, Yama thirtham, Vashistha thirtham, Varuna Thirtham, Vayu thirtham and Saraswathi thirtham.

The ancient scriptures say that taking a bath in this holy Swamy pushkaratni thirtham would provide salvation.
