Students make clay Ganesh idols at Bhagavathi and Arvintree Schools

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 06, 2024: Students of Bhagavathi High School, Bhagathnagar and Arvintree High School, Vasudeva colony, in Karimnagar town have separately made clay Ganesh idols to worship during the Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations beginning from Saturday onwards.

The Bhagavathi group of schools in Karimnagar town, which had emerged as a role model in making clay idols for the last two decades to protect the environment, has continued its legacy of involving the students in making the clay idols to be installed on the respective two schools premises worshipped during the Navaratri celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Schools chairman B Ramana Rao said that the Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols were causing enormous harm to the environment with the pollution of water bodies after their immersion. He said that the clay idols were the best form of worship of the Lord Ganesha seeking his blessings and also for the protection of the environment. He said that they were making Ganesh idols to be worshipped on the school premises by using clay material only and the students were involved in making the idol. He also said that they would also immerse the clay idol in the temporary pond on the school premises and use the water as manure for the plants.
