KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 23, 2024: Teachers working in various private educational institutions have announced their support to BRS contestant from Karimnagar Parliament constituency B Vinod Kumar in the Lok Sabha elections.
They said that Vinod Kumar, an educated and intellectual, knows the problems of the people and the private teachers. His election from Karimnagar parliament constituency would transform their lives, they claimed and stated that they would be campaigning for the BRS contestant by touring all the villages in the constituency.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) state advisor Y Shekhar Rao said that the government should provide Rs 10 lakhs health insurance coverage to the private teachers by distributing health cards as they were working with low salaries in the private schools. He reminded that Mr Vinod Kumar, when he was Karimnagar MP, had proposed a private bill in the parliament in 2018 to provide medical reimbursement facilities for the private teachers on par with the government teachers.
Stating that the centre and state governments were collecting education cess from the people since Independence, he said that the allocation for budget for the education sector was very meager and demanded that the education cess should be spent only for the education sector
He also claimed that Mr Vinod Kumar had ensured that the private teachers were provided free training in Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) through National institute of open schooling (NIOS). Private teachers Venu Goud, Ramesh, Ravinder Reddy, Madhusudhan, Ravi, Raju Yadav, Bharath and others were also present.
