HYDERABAD, JUNE 21, 2025: Sister Nivedita School resonated with the rhythms of wellness and harmony as it celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day in a vibrant combined event. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, the entire school united in a spectacular showcase of Indian heritage and holistic well-being.
The celebration began with a soulful welcome dance symbolising peace and unity. Students captivated the audience with a skit on the evolution of yoga, tracing its journey from the Vedic era to modern global recognition.
A highlight of the event was a theatrical tribute to Bharat Ratna awardees—M. S. Subbulakshmi, Pandit Ravi Shankar, and Bhimsen Joshi—brought to life through powerful student performances. The segment highlighted music’s divine ability to unify hearts beyond barriers.
Adding grandeur to the occasion was the Shiva Tandavam, performed with vigour and devotion, representing cosmic balance and the dynamic flow of energy through yogic postures.
The message “Yoga: A Cure for All Diseases” was delivered through student presentations that emphasised yoga’s power to build immunity, relieve stress, and create mental clarity.
A stunning yoga demonstration was followed by a mass yoga session, where students, teachers, and parents participated, embodying the spirit of “One Earth, One Health.”
Chief Guest Apoorva Deepak Ingle, certified yoga instructor and Director of Arogya Dhama Yoga Trust, Hyderabad, shared her profound insights. She explained the concepts of Ashiki (devotion and rhythm in movement), Vasuki (inner energy and healing), and Shayari (poetic mindfulness), connecting them beautifully to yoga and music. “Yoga nurtures not just the body, but also the spirit. It’s a path to balanced living and a peaceful mind,” she said.
Chairman Polasani Sudhakar Rao lauded the students’ dedication and emphasised reviving India’s spiritual and health traditions. Director Mr. Hariharaprasad appreciated the school’s commitment to integrating culture, health, and education.
Principal Dr. Lalitha Kumari, in her address, expressed heartfelt pride: “Our students not only performed with discipline but also internalised and expressed our cultural values through yoga and music.” She thanked the staff and parents for their enthusiastic support.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to embrace yoga and music as daily practices for a healthier, happier, and more harmonious life.
