Alphores Educational Institutions chairman V Narender Reddy, TRSMA former state president Y Shekhar Rao and Laksh Educational Institutions chairman Mushtaq Ali to contest the MLC elections
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 11, 2024: Leading educationists from Karimnagar district have announced their entry into politics and contest the ensuing Legislative Council elections from the Karimnagar Graduates constituency and intensified their surveys and campaign strategies even before the announcement of the election notifications.
With the MLC elections for the Karimnagar Graduates constituency scheduled tentatively in February 2025, the educationists have announced to contest the polls. Alphores Educational Institutions chairman V Narender Reddy, aspiring to the Congress party ticket, said he would definitely contest the MLC elections. He is lobbying for the Congress party ticket and seeking advice from several district Congress leaders. Even if the Congress party does not give the ticket, he said that he would contest the elections as an Independent.
It may be recalled that Mr Narender Reddy had joined the Congress party in 2018 and aspired for the party ticket from the Karimnagar assembly segment. Started his career by telling tuitions and launching a coaching institute to guide the students preparing for the EAMCET, he had transformed the educational scenario in the north Telangana region.
Earlier, the students used to migrate to Andhra Pradesh state for Intermediate education. However, after setting up Alphores Junior College, he stopped the migration of students to Andhra by providing quality education in Karimnagar and ensured that the students secured top ranks in EAMCET, IIT, NEET and other competitive examinations. He had set up a total of 60 educational institutions including schools and junior colleges in the state.
On the other hand, Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) former state president and founder of Valmiki educational institutions in Karimnagar Yadagiri Shekhar Rao had also announced to contest the MLC elections from the Karimnagar Graduates constituency. He had been campaigning rigorously through social media informing the graduate voters about enrolment as voters. He is appealing to the voters to submit photo copies of SSC memo, graduation certificate, Aadhar card, passport size photo etc to him so that he would enroll them as voters.
It may be mentioned here that during the 2019 MLC elections, Mr Shekhar Rao planned to contest the elections from the Karimnagar graduates constituency with the support of all private schools of the region. However, at the last minute following the pressures from then-TRS (now BRS) leaders, he withdrew from the contest. But, this time, he is seriously in the race and planning for the BRS ticket and if not contest as an Independent.
Freshly, a young educationist and founder of Laksh educational institutions in Karimnagar town Mushtaq Ali had announced to contest the MLC elections from Karimnagar graduate constituency. Accordingly, he organised a mega job mela in Karimnagar town on Tuesday and helped more than 400 students secure employment in various organisations. He assured that he would strive for the employment of all graduates if elected as MLC.
