Orientation programme for NSS volunteers in New GDC women, Golkonda

HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 11, 2024: An orientation programme was organised for the newly enrolled NSS volunteers of New Government Degree College for Women, Golkonda, Hyderabad, on Wednesday.

A total of 100 volunteers participated in the programme. The orientation programme started with principal T Sree Lakshmi addressing the gathering and enlightening the students the importance of social service through National Service Scheme.

NSS programme officer Humera Sayeed, Commerce faculty member B Suchetha apprised the volunteers about the motto ‘Not Me but You’, the importance, purpose and objectives of the NSS symbol honour badge, the role and duties of the volunteers as well as the activities carried out by it. The volunteers were asked to regularly maintain a hard copy of the NSS work record whenever the activities were conducted and submit the same as and when asked by the programme officers. The NSS programme officers presented the activities planned for the academic year.

Representative of Hope (voluntary organization) Vijay also empowered the girl students on women safety issues. He also educated the students the importance of community service along with the academic activities and to expose them to the realities of life, and bring about a change in their social perception, and make them socially responsible.
