Dussehra celebrations by Tiny Tots of Sister Nivedita School captivate

Truth always wins and good triumphs over evil

HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 01, 2024: Tiny Tots of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad celebrated the Dussehra celebrations on Tuesday with much pomp and gaiety on their school premises.

Students came clad up as Ram, Laxman, Sita, Hanuman and Ravana. The festive mood gripped the students as they saw the effigy of Ravana, made up of waste papers and bamboo sticks. Students enjoyed watching Ram Leela enacted by teachers. Music and hymns in the praise of Lord Ram were echoed in the school premises. The festive spirit culminated the celebration by blowing the hot air balloons and finally setting Ravana to flames. The children cheered and clapped as firecrackers entwined around Ravana burst creating an astounding light and sound. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety.

The premises at Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet filled with enthusiasm, joy and happiness as the classes of 1 and 2 joined together to celebrate the auspicious Dussehra festival. The Dussehra celebrations began with a warm welcome from the Principal of the school and a bow and arrow takeaway as a token of love. The programme continued with an elegant dance offering the first prayers to Lord Ganesha. Further, the programme continued with a melodious group song by classes 1 and 2 children.

In addition, the celebrations continued with a magnificent skit on Mahishasurara Mardhini where children got elegantly dressed up in costumes depicting the different characters of the skit. Teachers rendered the story of Lord Rama defeating the evil king of Lanka, Ravana and conveyed the message that good wins over evil.

The programme’s attraction was Navadurgas where girls got dressed up like nine avatars of Maa Durga or Navadurga that are worshipped during Navratri. Each form of Maa Durga represents different aspects of Goddess.

Finally, the celebrations concluded with lively dance performances by children in Bathukamma.

Addressing the gathering Principal of the school Dr.T.Lalitha Kumari and the Correspondent of the school Hari Hara Prasad extended their wishes to everyone and determined the importance of being good and how it helps us and encouraged everyone to be true, do the right things and notified that Knowledge conquers ignorance. Chairman Dr Sudhakar Polsani conveyed his greetings to the students, parents and teachers.
