HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 16, 2024: Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, hosted an enlightening workshop on Techniques to Enhance Memory Skills for students of Classes 9 to 12, designed to enhance their cognitive abilities and academic performance.
The session featured Dr Venu Madhav Kumar Dyvala, an internationally renowned Memory and Soft Skills Trainer, world record holder, and coach of memory champions. A proud alumnus of Vivekananda Residential School, Karimnagar, a sister institution of Sister Nivedita School, Mr Venu Madhav Kumar brought expertise and relatability to his session, inspiring students to unlock the full potential of their minds.
The workshop began with an introduction by Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, Principal of Sister Nivedita School, who emphasized the significance of memory skills in tackling academic challenges. Rotarian M. Harihara Prasad, the school’s correspondent, appreciated the initiative and expressed his belief in equipping students with modern techniques to succeed in today’s competitive world.
Mr Venu Madhav Kumar engaged the audience with relatable insights, drawing comparisons between the human brain and a supercomputer and referencing the movie Robot to explain the remarkable memory capabilities of the mind. He highlighted the brain as the most powerful tool and encouraged students to see it as a gift capable of extraordinary feats.
Throughout the session, Mr Madhav delved into the science of memory, explaining the differences between short-term and long-term memory and introducing practical techniques to effectively transfer information between the two. He addressed common student struggles, such as the inability to recall answers during exams, and provided solutions rooted in training and developing memory through association, visualization, and repetition. The session was interspersed with engaging activities and memory games, ensuring students actively participated and experienced the impact of these techniques firsthand.
The workshop concluded with a motivational message from Mr Venu Madhav, inspiring students to consistently practice these strategies to enhance their learning and problem-solving abilities.
