
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 24, 2024: In an effort to create awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer, the Health Club of Government Degree College for Women, Karimnagar, conducted an awareness programme on breast cancer on the college premises on Thursday.
Participating as chief guest, Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Dr Geeta Reddy provided detailed insights on breast cancer, including its causes, symptoms, and treatment options. She emphasized the importance of regular self-examinations, early detection, and lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Dr. Reddy also discussed the precautions that women should take to prevent breast cancer, such as maintaining a healthy diet, regular physical exercise, avoiding smoking and alcohol, and staying informed about their family’s medical history. She stressed the significance of early diagnosis in improving treatment outcomes.
The programme was presided over by College Principal Professor Vara Lakshmi. A large number of faculty members and students attended the event, making it highly informative and impactful. The session highlighted the need for continuous awareness and education on breast cancer prevention and care.
