KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 03, 2025: Achievers Active High School, Kothi Rampur, Karimnagar, in association with the Alliance Club, celebrated the Women’s Teachers Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first woman teacher and social reformer Jyothibha Phule on Friday (January 03, 2025).
School director Ch Venkateswarlu, Principal Ch Pallavi, Alliance Club leaders Dr Elagandula Srinivas, Kola Anna Reddy, Srinivas Gandhi and Poolala Shyam launched the celebrations by lighting the lamp and paying floral tributes to the portrait of Savithribhai.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Venkateswarlu said that Savithribhai Phule was the first woman teacher in the country and played a crucial role in the women’s liberation movement. He also reminded that she had fought against untouchability. On this occasion, the teachers were felicitated by presenting them with shawls and mementoes.
