KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 03, 2025: Students of Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, paid floral tributes to the portrait of social reformer Savithribhia Phule on the occasion of her birth anniversary on Friday.
Alphores Educational Institutions chairman V Narender Reddy launched the celebrations by lighting the lamp and paying floral tributes to the portrait of Savithribhai Phule. On this occasion, he said Savithribhai was the first woman teacher in the country and she played crucial role for the empowerment of women and girl children through education and opening schools for girls.
Stating that the Telangana government had recognized her services and declared Savithribhai Phule’s birth anniversary as Women’s Teachers Day on January 3, Mr Narender Reddy said that Savithribhai played a crucial role in the eradication of untouchability.
