Minister offers special prayers at Vemulawada temple shrine
Temple authorities accord traditional welcome to Ponnam Prabhakar
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 28, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has said that they were taking all measures for the launch of nityannadhana satram at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam for the benefit of devotees.
The Minister visited the Vemulawada temple shrine on Wednesday and offered special prayers. He was received by Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and SP Akhil Mahajan and temple EO Vinod Reddy. The temple priests have accorded a ‘poornakumbam’ welcome. After darshan, the priests presented the Minister and others with prasadam and ashirvachanam.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhakar said that they would ensure that the nityannadhana satram would be operational for the benefit of devotees by the ensuing Karthika month and appealed to the philanthropists, devotees, NGOs and others to contribute for the nityannadhana scheme.
Stating that the Vemulawada temple was the biggest Shiva shrine in the Telangana state, he said that they were taking all measures for the speedy of darshan of the presiding deities and introduced ‘break darshan’ facilities also. He said the government had allocated Rs 50 crore for the development of Vemulawada shrine with the suggestions of Shringeri peetam and other purohits.
Government Whip Adi Srinivas said that they had launched the break darshan during the start of ‘Shravana’ month festivitites and so far 1400 devotees availed the facilities and the temple earned Rs 15 lakhs income. Stating that they had handed over 1500 oxen from the devasthanam to the farmers for agricultural purposes, he said that they had constructed three sheds for providing shelter to oxen and another shed would come up very soon and providing them with necessary fodder and nutritional support.
He said that they were taking measures for the construction of more cottages for the benefit of devotees visiting the temple shrine. Municipal chairperson R Madhavi, vice chairman B Mahesh, Vemulawada ACP Seshadrini Reddy, and others were also present.
