Inaugurates Vemulawada PACS godown, CSC centre, ATM centre and distributes financial assistance
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 28, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar participated in various developmental programmes in Vemulawada temple town on Wednesday.
The Minister along with Government Whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas, NAFSCOB and DCCB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, DCCB vice chairman P Ramesh, DCMS chairman A Srikanth and others participated in the inauguration of Karimnagar DCCB Vemulawada branch new building and also ATM facilities. They also inaugurated the PACS Godown of 300 metric tonnes capacity and Common Service Centre (CSC) at PACS Vemulawada. They also handed over financial assistance from the DCCB including housing loan, education loan, SHG groups.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhakar said the Congress government fulfilled the promise crop loan waiver of Rs 2 lakhs to the farmers. If there are any farmers, who did not receive the loan waiver amount, should approach the cooperative bank officials, who would coordinate with the government and ensure that the loan is waived, he stated.
Stating that they had waived a total of Rs 444 crore crop loans benefitting 59,000 farmers in Karimnagar district, he reminded that the Congress government during the Prime Ministership of Manmohan Singh and AP Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy had waived crop loans upto Rs one lakh in 2005.
He stated that he entered into active politics through cooperatives along with Mr Ravinder Rao in 2005 and claimed that they had strived hard for the strengthening of the cooperatives. He said that he had planned to become DCCB chairman, but the Congress government made him DCMS chairman and within one week as APMARFED chairman.
When the cooperative sector was reeling under acute financial crisis, the Congress government had provided financial assistance to DCCBs and ensued that the PACS and women SHGs procure paddy and maize crop from the farmers.
He said that the Congress government had ensured that more than 85 crore women travel in free transportation facilities in RTC since last 265 days worth Rs 2,500 crore. He said that the womenfolk were traveling to pilgrim shrines in RTC buses.
Lauding the leadership of DCCB chairman Ravinder Rao for transforming the Karimnagar DCCB into a role model in the country, he congratulated Vemulawada PACS for doing a business of Rs 150 crore including Rs 35 crore deposits.
He said that the Congress had fulfilled the promise of providing free power to the consumers who consume less than 200 units of power per month and distributing LPG cylinders at Rs 500 only and added that the Arogyasri insurance coverage was increased to Rs 10 lakhs. DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, Directors V Mohan Reddy, Tirupathi Reddy, M Ramachander Rao and others were also present.
