KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 28, 2024: National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College, Nagunuru on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, organised a sapling plantation drive as part of the ‘Swachdhanam-Pachadanam’ on the college campus on Wednesday under the stewardship of Principal T Malathi.
As part of the programme, the volunteers cleaned the premises by removing the shrubs and weeds and planting the saplings. On this occasion, the students vowed to nurture the plants by watering them regularly and grow as huge tree during their stay in the college.
Principal T Malathi apprised the students to keep the surroundings clean and tidy to check the spread of mosquito-borne diseases. She also informed them to protect the environment from pollution by taking up the plantation of saplings for a better future. Vice Principal G Samatha, NSS programme officer K Geetha Rani, Botany Department Head N Srilatha, faculty members Asma and Pravitha and others participated in the plantation drive.
