Kondagattu temple shrine packed to brim on Hanuman jayanthi celebrations

The temple shrine turned ‘saffron’ with the arrival of hordes of Hanuman deeksha devotees

JAGTIAL, APRIL 23, 2024: The Lord Hanuman jayanthi celebrations were conducted with religious fervour and gaiety at the historic and ancient Sri Anjaneya Swamy devasthanam in Kondagattu of Mallial mandal on Tuesday.

The festivities saw thousands of Hanuman devotees visit the temple shrine on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The roads were packed with devotees from various parts of erstwhile Karimnagar district and other parts of the State, donning the ‘mala’ trekked to the shrine barefoot braving scorching sun. The devotees formed serpentine queues which were several kilometres long, and it took them more than several hours to perform darshan of the presiding deity.

Authorities made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of darshan by barricading the queues. The temple authorities and several voluntary organisations came forward to provide drinking water by setting up water kiosks at various places of the temple and the ghat road.

Choppadandi legislator Medipalli Satham and Endowments Commissioner M Hanumantha Rao visited the shrine and offered special prayers. Superintendent of Police Sanpreet Singh also visited the hill shrine and inspected the security arrangements and smooth darshan process for the devotees.

The police made unprecedented security arrangements at the shrine and on the ghat road and other roads leading to the shrine. Additional SPs Vinod Kumar and Bheem Rao, DSPs Raghu Chander and Umamaheshwara Rao, Inspectors Nageshwar Rao and Ravi, SIs and others were also present.
