RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, JULY 09, 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) under the aegis of the district medical and health department conducted a medical camp for the benefit of students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, located at Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, on Thursday.
The medical team from the Hanmajipet Primary Health Centre (PHC), comprising Dr N. Swapnalatha (CHO/MLHP), Mahathi (CHO/MLHP), G. Lalitha (HAF), and C.H. Kavitha (ASHA), visited the college and conducted health check-ups for the students. They assessed the students’ health conditions, provided necessary medical advice, and distributed medicines free of cost. The team also inspected the college kitchen, dining hall, washrooms, and surrounding premises, offering valuable suggestions regarding cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation to check the spread of seasonal diseases.
The primary objective of the medical camp was to promote health awareness among students, encourage personal hygiene and healthy dietary habits, and help them identify health issues at an early stage so that appropriate preventive measures can be taken.
On this occasion, the Principal, P. S. R. Sharma, stated that healthy students are better equipped to achieve academic excellence. He emphasised that the college is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of its students by providing a clean and healthy learning environment. He further remarked that such medical camps play a significant role in creating health awareness and preventing diseases among students.
The programme was attended by Vice Principal K. Lavanya, Academic Coordinator B. Sumalatha, NSS Programme Officer V. Swapna, NSS Council Members R. Deepthi, G. Swapna, and S. Sandhyarani, College Health Supervisor P. Sumalatha, faculty members, medical staff, and students. The college management expressed its sincere gratitude to the medical team for conducting the camp successfully.
