BRS Peddapalli MP joins Congress party in New Delhi

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 06, 2024: On the eve of ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the BRS has received a rude shock as its sitting MP from Peddapalli reserved constituency B Venkatesh Netha joined the Congress party in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Venkatesh Netha joined the Congress  party in  the presence of AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other leaders. After joining the party, Venkatesh Netha along with Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Batti Vikramarka and other leaders paid a courtesy visit to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, they said.

Venkatesh Netha, a first-time MP, had served in the state excise department before taking the political plunge in 2018. He had unsuccessfully contested the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections on a Congress ticket from Chennur assembly segment. However, he later joined BRS (then TRS) and got elected to the Lok Sabha from Peddapalli (SC) constituency in 2019 at the instance of former Minister Koppula Eshwar. This time, the Congress party had assured Mr Venkatesh of the party ticket from Peddapalli parliament constituency.
