Project capacity reached 12.0131 tmcs against full capacity of 20.175 tmcs
Ramagundam CP inspects the overflowing Pranahita river in Kotapalli mandal of Mancherial district
PEDDAPALLI, JULY 23, 2024: Thanks to bountiful rainfall, Sripada Yellampalli project in Ramagundam mandal is receiving steady inflows into the project and the capacity had reached 12.0131 tmcs of water against the full capacity of 20.175 tmcs on Tuesday afternoon.
The project is receiving instant inflows of 11,238 cusecs including 8,223 cusecs from its catchment areas and 3,015 cusecs from Kaddem project. The outflow of 331 cusecs was being supplied to Hyderabad Metro Works to meet the drinking water needs of Hyderabad city.
On the other hand, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police M Srinivas inspected the inter-state bridge at Arjun gutta and oversaw the flow of river Pranahita from the Ferry point Kotapalli mandal in Mancherial district.
Calling upon the people living the shores of river Pranahita not to panic over the overflowing floods, he said that the government was taking all measures to prevent human and property loss in the possible floods. He said that they had deployed district disaster response force (DDFF) and police teams to meet any eventuality.
He appealed to the people not to venture out unnecessarily and visit the waterfalls, overflowing lakes and rivulets out of curiosity. He informed the people to dial 100 for any assistance during emergencies. Mancherial DCP A Bhaskar, Additional DCP (admn) C Raju, Jaipur ACP Venkateshwarlu, Special Branch ACP Raghavendra Rao, Chennur Rural Inspector Sudhakar, Neelvai SI Shyam Patel and others were also present.
