Election Commission bans KCR from campaigning for 48 hours

KCR roadshows in Jammikunta and Shankarpatnam scheduled to be conducted on Thursday cancelled

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 01, 2024:  In a shocking development, the Election Commission of India has banned the campaigning of BRS founder president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for 48 hours for his ‘objectionable’ remarks against the Congress party during the implementation of Election code of conduct in the Telangana state.

Following the ECI decision, the BRS president’s bus yatra in Shankarpatnam and Jammikunta towns in Karimnagar district on Thursday have been cancelled. Mr KCR would not be allowed to campaign from May 1, 2024 8 pm onwards for 48 hours. The BRS rank and file, who had made unprecedented arrangements for the road shows in Shankarpatnam and Jammikunta towns are worried lot over the cancellation of the meetings.
