JAGTIAL, DECEMBER 01, 2024: In order to detect the hidden leprosy cases, the Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC) is being implemented in the Jagtial district from December 2 to 15, 2024.
In a statement here on Sunday, DMHO Dr Pramod Kumar and AIDS and Leprosy programme officer Dr N Srinivas said during this campaign starting from December 2 each person in a house in the selected high endemic and migratory areas would be screened to detect all hidden cases in the community. The survey would be conducted under the jurisdictions of 17 PHCs and five urban health centres in the district.
Stating that presently there are 34 active leprosy cases in the district5, he informed the ANMs and ASHA workers play responsible in the detection of new cases to provide medical assistance free of cost.’ He called upon the medical fraternity to strive for the eradication of leprosy from the district and ensure a leprosy-free district.
