KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 02, 2024: Doctors associated with the Indian Medical Association Karimnagar chapter and District Medical and Health office organised a rally to make the public aware of HIV\AIDS in Karimnagar town on Monday.
Collector Pamela Satpathy flagged off the rally at the DMHO office, which passed through important streets and converged into a meeting at Film Bhavan in Karimnagar town.
Speakers said AIDS disease was caused by HIV, which weakened the immunity of humans. The purpose behind celebrating the special day was to make people aware of the disease, they said. There was a need to remove the misconceptions spread in society, and volunteers should also come forward to create awareness for it, they added. They also said under the theme ‘Take the right path: My health, my right!’, the World Health Organisation was calling on global leaders and citizens to champion the right to health by addressing the inequalities that hindered progress in ending AIDS.
