HYDERABAD, DECEMBER 02, 2024: The Foundation Day of Assam was celebrated with enthusiasm and reverence at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad on Monday. Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma and the First Lady of the State Sudha Dev Varma participated in the celebrations with the people of Assam, who are staying in the State.
The Governor greeted the participants and invitees on this special occasion to commemorate the Foundation Day of Assam. He paid rich tributes to all those leaders and the citizens of the state who contributed to the formation of the state of Assam. He spoke on how sharing and celebrating other states formation days would help one another in familiarizing with others cultures and heritage.
On this occasion, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma reiterated our goal of becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. In this connection, he repeated the Prime Minister’s call for innovative ideas from the youth and students of the country. The Governor also stressed the need for a continuing commitment to learn and celebrate each other’s cultures to make our bond grow stronger.
The celebration programme of the foundation day of Assam commenced with the display of a video message of Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Assam, the representatives of the participating State shared short speeches about their native state. Traditional Dances and special performances were also showcased in this celebration program.
The programme was graced by the Special Chief Secretary to the Governor B. Venkatesham, Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, and Assam residents settled in Hyderabad.
