KARIMNAGAR, MAY 03, 2024: As stipulated by the Election Commission of India, the casting of postal ballot by the Absentee Voters Essential Services (AVES) category for the Karimnagar parliament elections commenced on Friday at the St Alphones high school in Karimnagar town.
The district election authorities have made elaborate arrangement to ensure that 8166 government employees including teachers deployed as POs, APOs, Micro observers and other duties and 5457 police personnel deployed for elections duties could exercise their franchise through postal ballot at the Voter facilitation centre in Karimnagar town. Incidentally, there was good response to the postal ballot polling with several employees and police personnel arrived in large numbers to cast their votes. The postal ballot voting would be conducted from May 3 to 8, 2024.
District Election Officer and Collector Pamela Sathpathy visited the centre and inspected the postal ballot voting process. She instructed the polling personnel deployed at the centre to ensure smooth and proper conduct of postal ballot elections. Additional Collectors Praful Desai and Laxmi Kiran, Trainee Collector Ajay Yadav, Karimnagar RDO K Maheshwar, GM (industries) Naveen, presiding officer Tirumala Rao and others were also present.
