Campaigning comes for a ‘beating’ with soaring temperature in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 28, 2024: With the soaring temperature and India Meteorological department (IMD) warnings of issuing ‘Red alert’ in various parts of the Karimnagar district and the temperature reaching 46.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the campaigning for the electioneering had come for a ‘beating’ by all the contestants from the Karimnagar parliament constituency.

Though, several candidates have remained in fray from the segment, but the main fight is between the three main contesting parties of Congress, BJP and BRS. The campaigning of these parties has been intensified in the form of publicity vehicles moving swiftly in various parts of the constituency.

Following the blistering heatwave conditions, the contesting candidates have been campaigning only during the mornings and evenings. In the morning hours, the candidates have been meeting the electorate at various public places during the morning walks and campaigning. Similarly, they were also doing the door to door campaign only during the morning hours.

In the afternoon hours, the contestants were holding meetings with their party rank and file and chalking out strategies to intensify the electioneering. During the evening hours, the contesting candidates were holding street corner meetings and also doing road shows in various mandal headquarters.

The parties were also encouraging the joining of the leaders from other parties into their fold to send a ‘clear message’ as part of electioneering. Besides, they were also organising press meets to counter the opposition contestants’ allegations as part of campaigning. However, the three main contestants’ are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters by organising the campaigning with start campaigners.

TPCC president and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had conducted two meetings in Jammikunta and Sircilla textile towns to woo the voters. BRS founder president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had launched his campaigning from the sentiment of SRR college grounds. BJP contestant Bandi Sanjay Kumar is hoping on the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a massive public meeting in Vemulawada temple town tentatively on May 8.
