KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 13, 2024: The best practices, good governance, use of IT, diversification of business, commitment of employees and no political interference in the banking activities is the success mantra of the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) to emerge as the number one cooperative bank in the country, said NAFSCOB and Karimnagar DCCB chairman Mr Konduru Ravinder Rao.
Participating in an interactive session with the participants from north and northern states of the BIRD, Mangaluru, who visited the Karimnagar DCCB and other PACSs as part of study tour on Tuesday, Mr Rao said that the Karimnagar DCCB was the first bank to take up the computerisation of all PACS in the year 2012. The bank had taken up recruitment of staff only through IBPS to select the qualified and professionals since 2012, he said.
Empowering the visiting team that the KDCCB which was running in losses to the tune of Rs 57 crore in 2005, he said that the bank had now earned gross profit of Rs 100 crore during the year 2023-24. He said that the net NPA of the bank was zero. They could achieve success of the bank only through diversification of business along with agriculture lending to the housing, education, PMEGP, MSME, vehicles and others.
Stating that all the 130 PACS were running in profits, he said that the Telangana government was first to introduced HR policy for the PACS. He said that they made PACS run in profits by diversification of business and constant supervision by the bank officials.
Mr Baidynath Singh, DGM, BIRD Mangaluru, said that it was great privilege to visit Karimnagar DCCB, which is the top cooperative bank in the country. He said that it was also memorable experience to interact with KDCCB chairman Ravinder Rao and follow their best practices. DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, general managers B Sridhar and Md Riazuddin, DGMs N Satyaprasad and Brahmananda Rao, AGMs, Mirza Imtiaz Ali Baig, L Rajashekhar, T Nagaraju and G Mahesh, PACS development centre resource person G Satyanarayana and others were also present.
