

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 17, 2025: A workshop on Classroom English was conducted at Vivekananda Residential School on Thursday in collaboration with Pearson Publications.

The session was led by Ms. Padma Chandrashekhar, an experienced educator and resource person, who provided valuable insights into effective classroom communication in English.
The workshop aimed to enhance teachers’ proficiency in using English in classroom interactions, thereby creating a more engaging and interactive learning environment. She shared a variety of practical techniques to draw students towards learning. These included using a lead-in to spark interest, paraphrasing to simplify complex concepts, and employing concept checking questions (CCQs) and instruction checking questions (ICQs) to ensure student understanding. She also discussed the technique of Total Physical Response (TPR) to make learning more interactive and kinesthetic.
Dr. P. Sudhakar Rao, Chairman of the school, warmly welcomed the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for educators. The Principal, Mrs. Renuka Balivada, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Padma Chandrashekhar for her enriching and informative session and acknowledged the constant support of Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, Director (Academics) in ensuring continuing academic education for the teachers.
The workshop proved to be a highly beneficial experience for the teaching faculty, equipping them with practical strategies to improve their classroom communication skills.
