KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 08, 2025: The Union Government has tentatively agreed to set up a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Vangara, the native village of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao in the integrated Karimnagar district.
Similarly, the government had also assured to set up another JNV in Sircilla textile town. A decision to this effect was made by Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan to Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who submitted a petition in this regard in New Delhi on Tuesday evening.
Recently, the state government sent proposals to the central government requesting the establishment of Navodaya Vidyalayas in 18 new districts of Telangana. However, the Hanumakonda district was not mentioned in the proposals. In response, State Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar brought this issue to the notice of Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Acting swiftly, Bandi Sanjay appealed to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to establish a Navodaya Vidyalaya in Vangara, Husnabad constituency and also requested the establishment of a Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Sircilla district as part of the proposal.
Bandi Sanjay further requested that two schools be established in every mandal (sub-district) of Karimnagar and Rajanna Sircilla districts under the PM Shri scheme. He explained that funds of Rs 40 lakhs would be allocated for each selected school under this scheme, which would provide an opportunity for the comprehensive development of these schools.
Technical University in Karimnagar
In addition, Bandi Sanjay submitted another memorandum to the central minister requesting the establishment of a Technical University in Karimnagar. He specifically highlighted the need for the Technical University, stating that it would play a crucial role in promoting skill development and technical education in his parliamentary constituency. He further explained that establishing such an institution would address the shortage of advanced educational institutions and help provide youth with industry-relevant skills. He emphasized that the project is vital for accelerating regional development.
Responding positively to Bandi Sanjay’s request, Dharmendra Pradhan assured that steps would be taken in line with the proposal.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar further explained that the establishment of the technical university, along with Satavahana University, would benefit the combined Karimnagar district. He mentioned that the district currently has three government engineering colleges and nine private engineering colleges, serving nearly six thousand students and that the new university would enhance technological innovation.
By gaining technical expertise, students would have opportunities to showcase their skills and secure good jobs at national and international levels, he added.
The following mandals were recommended for establishing schools under the PM Shri scheme: Karimnagar Town, Kothapalli, Karimnagar Rural, Manakondur, Thimmmapur, Gannevaram, Gangadhara, Ramadugu, Choppadandi, Chigurumamidi, Huzurabad, Veenavanka, Saidapur, Jammikunta, Ellandakunta and Shankarapattnam.
At the same time, he also requested the government to improve infrastructure in government schools. Under the PM Shri scheme, he asked for funds of Rs. 40 lakhs for each of the selected 24 government schools in Karimnagar district and 16 schools in Sircilla district to improve their infrastructure and provide better education to the students.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar also explained to the Minister that the Atal Tinkering Lab in the Karimnagar parliamentary constituency would help improve scientific skills among students. He expressed his commitment to making every effort to enhance the educational progress in the Karimnagar parliamentary constituency.
