Injection gives only temporary relief from pain and knee replacement through surgery is the only alternative
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 08, 2025: Dr Sunil Dachepalli, senior Orthopaedic, Robotic Joint Replacement and Key-hole surgeon, Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, has informed people suffering from knee pains to go in for the knee replacement surgeries through the advanced robotics system.
However, the Robotics joint replacement surgery is better than the conventional surgeries, he said and added that the robotic-assisted system is designed to bring the benefits of precise implant positioning, greater mobility and better knee range of motions, faster recovery time, reduced hospital stay, less pain and blood loss and lesser chances of a revision surgery to the patient.
Talking to newsmen at Yashoda Medical Centre in Karimnagar town on Wednesday, Dr Sunil said that knee replacement surgery is a must and not an option for people suffering from knee pains or arthritis. Ridiculing the claims of injections for knee pain, he said that the injection is not a permanent solution and only gives temporary relief and the surgery is the only alternative.
Stressing the need to create awareness of the importance of knee replacement, he said that the robotics surgery was having a 97 per cent success rate. He said that they would ensure that the patient walked within four hours after the surgery and was discharged from the hospital within two days. He informed the people to remove the fear of knee replacement surgery and it had become simple and it is a must and not an option for a permanent solution to joint pains. By embracing robotic knee replacement surgery, patients can potentially regain mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance their overall quality of life, he stated.
He said that the Yashoda hospital had set a record by performing more than 500 plus Robotic joint replacement surgeries within one and half years in Hyderabad. He informed the people to walk more to avoid joint pains in the future. He also that the Robotic knee replacement was cost-effective as there was less stay in the hospital.
Two patients Jagadish Chandra Rao, an advocate and Rajaiah, a police constable, from Karimnagar, who have undergone Robotic knee replacement surgeries have shared their experiences and leading normal lives after the surgery. They thanked the hospital for the successful surgeries and post-operative care during their stay in the hospital.
