Appeals for a drug-free school zone and intensified police patrolling around the school premises
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 21, 2026: The Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) Karimnagar district unit has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Kallu Roopa Reddy, the principal and director of Nagarjuna Grammar Concept School in Kondamallepally, Nalgonda district, who was stabbed to death recently.
They demanded that the government bring in the Teachers Protection Act and declare a drug-free school zone. Appealing for the constitution of an emergency response system, the TRSMA also sought zero tolerance around the school premises and intensified police patrolling.
Accordingly, the TRSMA leaders, led by its state honorary president Y Shekhar Rao, district president Koram Sanjeeva Reddy, vice president Pachunuri Surender, town president Rahul Naresh, town secretary Bomma Srinivas Goud, treasurer Banda Srikanth and others submitted memoranda to Collector Chitra Mishra and Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam separately on Friday.

On this occasion, Mr Shekhar Rao expressed concern over increasing attacks on teaching faculty in both the Telugu-speaking states. Stating that the teachers were only trying to transform the future citizens, he said that the parents were misunderstanding and creating issues in the schools and even attacking the teachers. He expressed concern over the ganja and drugs around the vicinity of the schools, which were spoiling the future generation.
Demanding the Teachers Protection Act, Mr Shekhar Rao said that the government should take measures to create a conducive atmosphere in the schools to discharge their duties without any fear. TRSMA members S Rajaiah, E Buchi Reddy, Ch Venkateshwarlu, Chandramohan, Giribabu, Malla Reddy, Krishnaveni School RC Reddy, Venkanna, Prasad, Sushanth, Majid, Alishamma, Mariamma and others were also present.
