KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09, 2024: The educational institutions have remembered Telangana’s ‘Praja Kavi’ Kaloji Narayana Rao on the occasion of his 111th birth anniversary which is celebrated the Telangana language day on Thursday. On this occasion, the institutions paid floral tributes to the portrait of Kaloji and remembered his services for the preservation of the Telangana language and its culture.
At the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for women in Nagunuru on the outskirts of Karimnagar, an eminent poet of Karimnagar town Annavaram Devender and another speaker Boorla Venkateshwarlu spoke on the importance of the Telangana dialect and poets promoted by Kaloji Narayana Rao at a workshop. College principal T Malathi, workshop coordinator Erroju Venkateshwarlu, and Ch Kavitha rendered the poem of Kaloji to launch the celebrations. Faculty member Srihari, NSS programme officer K Geetha Rani, and other teachers Padmaja, Srihari, Renuka, Shankaraiah, Radhika and others were also present.
Only the Telangana language and dialect survives
At SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar town, senior journalist PS Ravindra participated as chief guest and called upon the students to respect the Telangana language and its culture. College principal Y Satyanarayana, teachers Boorla Venkateshwarlu and Boorla Chandrashekhar said that the students have more responsibility to preserve the Telangana language and culture for future generations. IQAC coordinator Harjoth Kaur, faculty members Prakash, Srinivas, Venkateshwarlu, Ashok, Anil Kumar, Chaitanya and others were also present.
GDC Pedda Kalvala
Government Degree College, Pedda Kalvala in Peddapalli also observed the Telangana Language Day. In charge principal A Satish Kumar launched the celebrations by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Kaloji. Faculty members Kanjerla Srilatha and B Murali enlightened the students about the importance of Kaloji’s writings and his role in the freedom struggle and Telangana statehood movement. Faculty members M Archana Vandana, Ch Maruthi, A Narayana, Tirupati, Shukoor, K Sunitha and others participated.
ZPHS Indurthi celebrations
Zilla Parishad High School, Indurthi in Chigurumamidi mandal celebrated the Telangana Language Day by conducting essay writing, elocution, painting, singing and dance competitions for the students.
Headmaster Ch Jayaprada launched the celebrations by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Kaloji Narayana Rao. On this occasion, she recollected Kaloji’s fight against Nizam rulers and the Telangana statehood movement. Teachers Odelu Kumar, Manjula, Venu, SVR Chary, Madhavi, Sridevi, Jayaprakash and others were also present.
ZPHS Elagandal pays tributes to Kaloji
ZPHS Elagandal on the outskirts of Karimnagar paid floral tributes to Kaloji Narayana Rao on the occasion of his 111th birth anniversary. Headmaster Tumma Anandam enlightened the students about the life history of Kaloji and his participation in the freedom struggle and Telangana statehood movement. The school management conducted essay writing and elocution competitions for the students.
