World Earth Day Celebrated with Zeal at Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad


HYDERABAD, APRIL 22, 2025: The Tiny tots of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrated the World Earth Day with great enthusiasm, showcasing a commitment to ensure a clean and green planet on Tuesday.
The day began with a special programme where students presented a thought-provoking skit emphasising this year’s Earth Day theme: “Our Power Our Planet.” Earth Day is celebrated globally every year on April 22nd to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote environmental protection.

In honour of Earth Day, the students of classes 1 and 2 celebrated World Earth Day with great enthusiasm and fervour, showcasing a commitment to ensure a clean and green planet. The children creatively depicted the five elements – Space (Akash), air (Vayu), fire (Agni), water (Jal) and earth (Prithvi) through a skit to create awareness about caring for the environment and practice small steps from an early age.
The children showcased their understanding of the five elements through a creative ramp walk presentation. “Everyone learned that every small action counts – from saying no to plastic to planting trees,”
Students understand the importance of protecting the environment and the impact of human activities on the Earth. They learned about sustainable practices such as reducing waste, recycling, conserving water, and using eco-friendly materials.
The students, teachers, along with the principal, took a pledge together to conserve and save water, save electricity, plant more trees, practice health and fitness activities and save our planet and create a better world. The students mesmerised everyone with their amazing dance performance.
The Chairman of the school, Dr. Sudhakar Polsani, and the correspondent of the school, Rtn. Hari Hara Prasad and the principal of the school, Dr. T Lalitha Kumari, emphasised the importance of conserving our beautiful nature.
