

“Save Earth today for tomorrow”: Earth Day Celebrations at VRS Karimnagar


KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 22, 2025: World Earth Day was celebrated with lots of enthusiasm at Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar, with a message to create awareness-building activities to instil environmental responsibility among students on Tuesday.
The morning assembly was conducted by the students of Grade VI, highlighting the importance of Earth Day and the need to protect our planet. The students discussed the theme ‘ Our Power Our Planet’ and delivered informative speeches on the segregation of waste into wet, dry, and e-waste, emphasizing how such simple practices can go a long way in preserving nature. They also shared valuable tips on saving water and minimising wastage in daily life.
A solemn oath was taken by all the students and staff to protect Mother Earth and conserve water, pledging to make environmentally conscious decisions. Principal Renuka Balivada addressed the gathering, passionately explaining the urgent need to save our planet for future generations. She encouraged students to become “eco-warriors” by adopting sustainable habits.
Mr. Gandra Laxman Rao, Member of the Advisory Committee; Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, Director (Academics); and Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, Chairman, sent their heartfelt messages on the occasion. They emphasised the importance of individual responsibility in protecting the environment and encouraged students to lead the way in sustainable living.
A Creative CCA (Co-Curricular Activity) was also held for all students from classes 2 to 10 under the theme “Trash to Treasure,” where children showcased their innovative crafts made from recyclable materials, proving that creativity and sustainability can go hand in hand.The Earth Day celebration at Vivekananda Residential School was a thoughtful blend of education, awareness, and action, nurturing a generation that cares deeply for the planet.
